Cyberpunk is a Thought Provoking Culture...

The future... neon lights, glowing signs, holograms, pulsing electronic beats, and- are we seeing that right? Real-life glitch effects?? With my own eyes... is reality seriously starting to crumble? In this blog post, I will be delving into the ins and outs of the culture of cyberpunk. For those of you who are not too familiar with the subject, cyberpunk is a genre and subculture of science fiction that explores the ideas of a dystopian future. This is a future in which technology would not only be extremely advanced, but also often dominated by large corporations. It is also a future that loses equality between humanity and overall minimizes the importance of human-centered approaches to life, and focuses more on a technology-centered approach. Often in the genre of Cyberpunk, technology is ultimately used in poor ways that negatively impact the dystopian society that it has contributed to making. Specifically, I am going to delve into some details and analyses I noticed while pl...

Deeply Admiring this Martyr

What is the heart of how society functions? Information . The several interwebs and connections of all information are what bring society and humanity together as a whole. Aaron Swartz took the heart of how society functions, and held it to the utmost importance that it deserved to be considered. As usual, I was scrolling through my favorite and lovely social-media platform X. I came across a post by the user @bilawalsidhu about a man who was passionate about free and open access to information. This man's name was Aaron Swartz, also one of the co-founders of the well-known social news and entertainment site called Reddit. After reading through this post, I naturally became very curious about his history and contributions to the world of computers and culture, so I scoured the internet for more information about him. Eventually, I found myself on an article that was over 11 years old from The Guardian. LINK I instantly felt a connection to Aaron Swartz's mission and dedication...

PEGASUS! Not about Terrorism, it's about Control!

Throughout the day, you cook, you clean, spend time with your friends and family... perhaps you dabble in some of your favorite hobbies. But get this: someone is watching you. Where?  Someone is watching you from a place you might least expect. The device in which you store all of your personal information, all those photos you took with your friends and family last Christmas, all those texts of desperation you sent your ex that you occasionally look back on and cringe, all those corny and random excerpts you wrote in your notes app thinking you were a poet... too much? Sorry, I tend to have a hard time controlling my attitude, especially as I write this blog, and you'll understand why soon.  Did I read you like a book? Do I know you too well? Well, there might be a system out there that knows you even better than I think I do, and its name is Pegasus. I recently read a very interesting case study article called "Privatized espionage: NSO Group Technologies and its Pegasus spy...

ALLOW the Resurgence of Hacktivism!

Image
Recently, I came across a quite interesting post as I was scrolling through X, my beloved social media platform where I get to practice my love of free speech (outside of when I am going off on this blog). It was a post from the account called @Bitdefender_Ent about the resurgence of Hacktivism. Apparently, in this great, technologically advanced year of 2025, people are expecting Hacktivism to spike back up into a more popular and normalized act. Specifically, @Bitdefender_Ent shared that Martin Zugec, a tech speaker and blogger, claims that hacktivist groups are blurring the lines between activism and financial gain due to apparently adopting certain dangerous cybercrime tactics. Truthfully, I think this is an interesting way to put things. I would like to know where exactly this 'line' is stemming from, because I have always been a supporter of moral and ethical hacktivism. The hacktivism I have grown to love, support, and appreciate as a form of digital resistance seems to...
